Bending Big Branches by Notching
notches?
Last week, Master Wong demonstrated how to bend the thick branches of Eugenia uniflora (also known as Brazilian cherry, 红果 in Chinese) bonsai tree by notches. “So what is fitted?” is likely to ask. notches is a technique of folding a cut branch of a “V” across the width of the branch and bends when notches is particularly useful to bend the thick branches.
We have to make cuts of the “V” as smooth and as straight as possible to avoid any difference between the cuts when we joined the cuts and bends the branch with a wire tourniquet type.
Wound Care: Wound Sealant tape or waterproof
LEFT: Before Right: The best time to notch
From notched leaves a large wound in the bonsai tree, the best time periods to carry out the operation of our trees, either in the spring (when the weather is still cool, while the tree has started its growing season) or in early fall (when the summer heat is gone, and our tree still has plenty of time to heal their wounds before it becomes inactive).
