Hi, I’m Tom Shoji—but you can call me Tom.
Bonsai Review Author Mr. Thomas Shoji is passionate about the traditional living art of bonsai, Chinese Penjing, to Japanese Zen Buddhism. It’s more than just a hobby. Spiritually connecting humans and nature! Zen art is a way of life, a connection to nature, and a source of boundless joy. As beginner bonsai lovers, experience the deep peace and fulfillment that comes from nurturing these miniature living masterpieces.
I find peace in tiny leaves, gentle snips, slow growing and in bonsai. Twenty years ago, I started with one little tree, a pair of scissors, and lots of patience. I learned to slow down, to breathe, and to listen not just to my trees, but to my heart.
Why I Started Bonsai
You might wonder: why bonsai? Well, those little trees taught me more than any book could. They taught me that good things grow slowly, that small choices can shape big change, and that quiet hours bring calm. Here, I share what bonsai and life have both taught me.
